Recently, a professional Smash Bros. player by the name of Juan "hungryBox" or "HBox" DeBiedma won a Melee tournament by the name of Pound 2019 in Maryland. He had just beat another pro player by the name of Joseph "Mango" Marquez and was celebrating in his seat. However, his mood quickly changed from happy to confused as a crab flew past his head and landed by his feet. He picked up the dead crab and became furious. He instantly sat up, walked to the edge of the stage, and began yelling at the crowd in the direction where the crab flew from. He yelled obscenities and expressed his dismay and disappointment in the one who threw it (he was later identified). It is stated that the one guilty was motivated by anger and the outcome in an otherwise hype and joyous moment. The announcers of the game set had watched everything transpire and commentated over it as it was also streamed live on Twitch on the channel by the name of VGBootcamp. hungryBox soon released a short tweet about the incident apologizing about his outburst. It is unclear whether or not the one guilty for the assault will be charged. Recap:

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been out for about four months now, and has already released two DLC characters since then, being Piranha Plant from the Super Mario series and Joker from Persona 5. Such seemingly odd additions to the roster has spurred numerous discussions among the Smash community as to who the next four characters on the way could be. If a minor character from a popular game franchise and third-party character from way out of left field can be included, than what are the limits. Super Smash Bros. series creator Masahiro Sakurai has stated that rather than consulting the fans for ideas or himself coming up with the DLC roster, he left the decisions to the Nintendo company. Incidentally, the DLC roster has already been determined by Nintendo, meaning that any roster alterations due to fans or other extenuating circumstances are unlikely. Now with this piece of information, one must consider how Nintendo went about creating its roster. Is it more likely that they went prioritized pleasing the fans, adding characters to draw in newcomers and promote other franchises, or to find a sort of middle ground where the fans are happy and Nintendo successfully promotes another franchise? One would hope that the first option is true if not the third option. Additionally, the third option seems evident in the fact that Joker was added to Smash. Nintendo took the main character from a franchise widely admired by the video game community whose main claim-to-fame came from its primary feature on Playstation systems, and Sakurai gave him a spot in his game. Joker was a character that people would have loved to see in Smash, but was seen as an unlikely addition to Smash similar to Cloud, Bayonetta, and Snake - all of which are third-party characters. Joker's being in Smash has fans speculating about whether his game, Persona 5, would make it to the Switch. From a speculation standpoint, this would be a great move on Nintendo's part as Persona 5 is hailed as one of the best games of this generation and would function exceptionally on the Switch with familiar controls, especially on the go. Well, around three days ago, Nintendo announced that two Persona games would be coming to the Switch - "Persona 5 The Royal" and "Person 5 Scramble." It would be nice to have all the characters that we want to be in Smash, but what makes Smash unique is its roster and how characters are carefully picked and chosen to be playable fighters. However, we must remember that a major factor of determining DLC is how well it fits into its game. If the character does not aligned with the vision of its creators, than it will not be included. Simple as that. Recap:

Using lights in 3ds Max so far has been fairly simple. However, such a simple application of lights adds so much to my scene. The creation of shadows cast by the light and objects adds so much detail to my scene, especially when objects are placed on top or in front of one another. Mixing different-colored lights together create a new color (obviously). However, the intensity and opacity also play a role in the color's visibility. For instance, mixing red, blue, and yellow together yielded a warm, opaque, pinkish. There is even an option for the light to cast shadows of different colors, materials, and opacity as shown here. As for general light settings, the general size of the light ray can be altered via changing the parameters of the falloff/field option. However, the size of the central light ray can be altered via the hotspot/beam option. Something that I found to be odd was the overshoot option which, when checked, fills the entire exposed scene with a specific color. I have yet to realize a viable application for this option that outrules simply using an omni light which practically does the some thing. Pairing scenes with applied materials and maps with lights make the scene appear as detailed as can be. It almost makes you wonder why lights aren't labeled as a subgroup of the environment option in 3ds Max. Lights can also have a rectangular reflection as opposed to a basic circle as shown here (the outermost light). Lights have a lot of versatility in 3ds Max, and can add so much more detail to a basic scene that only contains a solid-colored primitive. Minimalism and highly-detailed scenes can only be reached with the addition of lights. Recap:
